Why pilates?

So my "day job" entails hours at a desk sometimes!!  Not ideal for a restless soul like myself!  I think that is probably one of the main reasons that pilates has captured my interest and become a love!  It's always changing, always challenging!  I love that!  I have always loved being active, but fitness was never really appealing to me!  In retrospect...it was because the fitness activites that I tried bored me to tears!  Running on a treadmill?  No way....it can hold my interest for about 2 minutes.  Step classes?  the routine was too hard to follow....my mind was wandering.  Pilates challlenged me for the get-go.  Can I hold this plank just 10 seconds longer?  Can you feel your ribs knitting together.  It took my racing scattered thoughts and focused them on what my muscles were trying to do.  Now maybe some of you already had that mind/body connection, but not me!  At my ripe old age at 32 and after playing and participating in every sport, activity, and type of fitness routine...pilates finally hit home!  I have decided to start a blog to share/inspire anyone else looking for a way to "transform"!  It really has changed everything from my body to my mind to my life!
